The Gospel

The Gospel, meaning “good news,” is the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. To understand this message fully, we must first recognize our need for a Savior.

Our Sinful Nature

The Bible teaches that all humans are born sinners, inherently separated from God. Romans 3:23 states:

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

This sinfulness has consequences. Romans 6:23 warns:

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Our sins earn us death, both physically and spiritually, resulting in eternal separation from God.

God’s Love and Provision

Despite our sinful state, God’s love for us remains unwavering. Romans 5:8 reveals:

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for our sins. John 3:16 declares:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The Path to Salvation

Salvation is a gift from God, not something we can earn through good works. Ephesians 2:8-9 explains:

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

To receive this gift, we must believe in Jesus Christ. Acts 16:31 instructs:

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”

This belief involves acknowledging our sins, repenting, and trusting in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection for our salvation. Romans 10:9 assures us:

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Assurance of Salvation

Once we place our faith in Christ, we are secure in His promise. John 10:28 provides comfort:

“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

If you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, I urge you to do so today. Embrace the salvation that comes through faith in Him as revealed in the Bible.

Salvation Prayer

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.”

Remember, it is not the recitation of specific words that brings salvation, but genuine repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. As Romans 10:9 says:

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

If you have taken this step, I encourage you to seek fellowship with a Bible-believing church, so you may grow in your faith and understanding of God’s Word.
